JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting under the Manager, Employee Health, Safety, & Security, and collaborating with the Employee Health Coordinator, WSIB Adjudicator, and Occupational Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant will provide primary support for generation and maintenance of requisite documentation as it relates to WSIB Claims and general assistance to Employee Health Office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Entering information into the Parklane system as directed by the Employee Health Manager and Coordinators.
- Generates W.S.I.B. forms and submits same to Consultant/W.S.I.B. on a timely basis.
- Follows up with Managers regarding return to work dates, or updated medical required, as assigned.
- Assists with Long Term Disability administration by monitoring sick time reports, completing Employer statement packages and forwarding documentation to employees.
- Assists Employee Health department in working in collaboration with Payroll to ensure proper coding and advising W.S.I.B. when to pay employee directly vs. reimbursing the Hospital.
- Liaison with Consultant regarding information requested.
- Provides general administrative assistance to Employee Health/Occupational Health & Safety department as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary diploma in an Administrative or Human Resources Program - required;
- Experience in WSIB claims management - preferred;
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word - required;
- Experience with software applications, Parklane and Infinium - preferred;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an administrative capacity, preferably in a unionized setting;
- Knowledge of employment legislation regarding Employment Insurance, Workplace Safety and Insurance, Human Rights, Occupational Health and Safety - preferred.
