Respiratory Therapist

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, or designate, the Registered Respiratory Therapist will provides clinical expertise to the
patient/client in outpatient (adult and paediatric) and inpatient care areas while meeting the standards of practice. In
collaboration with the members of the multidisciplinary team, the Registered Respiratory Therapist complies with the
Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment. The
incumbent is responsible for delivery of care consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital and the standards of
relevant professional organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (Ontario License) - required;
• B.C.L.S. - required;
• A.C.L.S. - preferred;
• Pulmonary Function Testing experience - preferred
• Experience in an outpatient and clinic setting - preferred
• Aller skin testing experience - preferred
• Able to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team;
• Commitment to standards of excellence and the concept of accountability;
• Commitment to and participation in Quality Enhancement activities;
• General good health and a level of fitness appropriate for the demands of the position;
• French language skills an asset
