Job Summary:

The UKG Support Analyst works co-operatively with departmental payroll staff to ensure financial and statistical activity is properly recognized based on business processes and activity.

The UKG Support Analyst participates in the process to accumulate and review monthly financial and statistical data and assists in the evaluation, development, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures and systems for the accounting and control of payroll expenses.

This position is a key component in the overall strategy of the Financial Services Department to provide accurate, relevant and timely financial information.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in the testing of computer system upgrades used to accumulate and process Payroll Information.

• Assist in analyzing, preparing and implementing required system changes due to contractual obligations

• Support the implementation and testing of a new timekeeping software

• Document, troubleshoot, coordinate, and communicate to the relevant internal and external stakeholders the status and progress of testing a new payroll system.

• Preparation of reports and analysis of financial & statistical data

• Review of financial and statistical data to ensure accuracy and reasonableness.

• Preparation of variance analysis to identify significant monthly or year-to-date variances.

• Explanations for variances are investigated and documented to ensure appropriate actions are taken.

• Review system generated reports to ensure outputs are equal to anticipated outcomes.

• Participate in various Hospital Committees and Task Groups.

• Assist in the analysis of biweekly payroll processing

 

Skills/Capabilities:

• Proficiency with personal computers, including spreadsheet, word processing and data base applications.

• Proficiency with the interactions of organization systems and department workflow, i.e. payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, inventory and fixed assets.

 

Qualifications:

• Recognized post-secondary degree or Diploma with a Major in Accounting preferred

• CPA designation or proof of enrollment in a designation program is preferred

• Proficiency with Kronos (iSeries), UKG Pro Workforce Management and/or Infinium considered an asset

• Required previous related job experience: 2 years of relevant experience in a computerized accounting environment with 1 year experience on the job. Total relevant experience 3 years

• Ability to develop and maintain constructive working relationships with coworkers and staff

• French Language proficiency an asset
